Although I consider myself a citizen of the world and have lived and worked in 8 countries on four continents, Canary Islands nature has been present in my work since I started painting 32 years ago.
My life has been an upward journey in which I tried to catch every opportunity, always looking forward, trying to assimilate and interiorize all the experiences I lived.
Canary Islands are a paradise for me. When I arrive I love the color of the sky, the weather, the nature, the sea, the volcanoes, EVERYTHING. The cliché is absolutely true: we live in paradise. It’s a priority for me to preserve our beauty and nature. Both things are reflected in the collection and in many of my paintings.
If I had to highlight situations that have made an impact on my life, I would name my studies and stay in New York, which opened the doors to a successful career of 20 years in the fashion world. I would also mention my stay in Ethiopia, which changed the way I see the world and introduced me to cooperation. I had the opportunity to meet so many great people and give a definitive meaning to my life.
After a decade devoted to solidarity in different countries, I challenged myself to create a business that could combine my lifelong passions: art, fashion, nature and solidarity. The biggest challenge is maintaining company’s profitability while I offer work to local workshops and NGOs.
Till then, art and fashion were two separate careers. I have worked art and fashion simultaneously, adding thousands of hours to my work days, because they are my true passion.
Some people advised me to choose one of the two. However, there are famous and well-known artists as Néstor de la Torre, Klimt, Huderwasser and others of my admiration who have successfully worked in both areas.
In the nearly three years of existence of my Canary Nature collection, I’ve proved dreams and projects can be realized with work and determination.
